A little bit about me and why I’m writing about whatever it is that I learn and find interesting.

Who am I?
I’m Eduardo Trunci, and I like any type of problem solving. I went to Georgia Tech for undergrad and got degrees in Mathematics and Computer Science, focusing on Theoretical Matha and AI/ML back when it was still warming up.
During college, I explored different fields through internships and research. I worked on:
- [Summer 2019] Anheuser-Busch InBev. a brewery/beverage company (the largest in the world, IIRC), that owns brands like Budweiser, Stella Artois, and Corona. I worked as an Analytics intern, learning how to predict NPS scores for our B2B suppliers with ML.
- [Summer/Fall 2020] Alice. A startup (30 employees then, 300+ now) that provides value-based health insurance. I worked as an Ops intern on the Health Engagement team, learning how to get people to do their health exams and go to the doctor.
- [Summer 2021] McKinsey & Co. Largest (!!) consulting firm in the world. Worked as a summer Business Analyst for a large US-based bank, focusing on digital marketing. Learned how to model checking accounts returns based on FICO scores and how to make pretty slides.
- [Fall 2021] Facebook/Instagram. No need for introduction. Worked as a Software Engineer Intern on the IG Well-being and anti-bullying team. Learned how to parse emojis to detect poor behaviour and how to hide pejorative comments on IG Posts, all in Python and SQL.
- [Fall 2022] Meta/Oculus. Worked with the VR Team on my second season there. Worked as a Software Engineer Intern on the VR Growth team, learning how to use React and Hack to build part of our App Referrals program.
And that was a wrap for college, I graduated in May 2023. In July, I started as a FT Software Engineer at Meta/Oculus, working with VR the whole time. Spent ~1 year on the same team as the summer, focusing on Growth for Mixed Reality, and another ~4 months on the Horizon Growth team, focusing on Growth for the Horizon Worlds platform. Learned a lot more about Meta’s internal tools, team management, planning, best practices, growing through influence and the best coffee shops in the Bay Area. In October 2024, I moved back to Brazil to start my own company, more on that later.
